Queen’s Hall Arts and Triple Treat Theatre are inviting young writers across West Northumberland to take part in a creative writing competition inspired by this year’s festive production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
The theme is A Christmas Future, inviting young people to imagine what Christmas might look like in years to come – from celebrations on another planet to a Christmas run by robots.
There are two age categories:
✏️ Years 4–6: What does your dream Christmas look like?
✏️ Years 7–9: What will happen on Christmas Day in the year 3000?
Entries can be a story, diary entry, poem or another creative format, up to 500 words, with illustrations encouraged. The competition is open to children living in or attending school in West Northumberland.
There are some brilliant prizes up for grabs, including family tickets to the VIP performance of A Christmas Carol, Queen’s Hall Arts vouchers and drama workshops with Triple Treat Theatre. One overall winner will also have a line from their entry included in the Christmas show, while runners-up will receive book tokens.
